HLAA Michigan State Association is proud to be a part of
Hearing Loss Association of America!

The Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA) is the nation’s leading organization representing people with hearing loss. HLAA provides assistance and resources for people with hearing loss and their families to learn how to adjust to living with hearing loss. HLAA is working to eradicate the stigma associated with hearing loss and raise public awareness about the need for prevention, treatment, and regular hearing screenings throughout life.

Michigan State Association Board of Trustees (BOT) Overview

Hearing Loss Association of America, Michigan State Association was formed in 1995 to support the mission of HLAA which is to open the world of communication to people with hearing loss by providing information, education, support and advocacy.  We educate people with hearing loss about coping with hearing loss and assistive technology that can help with in their daily lives.   We advocate for their needs and offer support to individuals throughout the state.   HLAA –Michigan State Association is an all-volunteer board of trustees that meets 3 times a year, usually remotely using zoom. Trustees must be a member of Hearing Loss Association of America and a resident of Michigan. Trustees serve as Chapter or At-Large representatives. Trustees are elected at the annual meeting and serve a three year term.
